Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Cost Settlements

The Kansas Health Policy Authority needs the following information from the CAH when filing cost reports:        

• Interim CAH Cost Settlements
• Inpatient Hospital Claims Log (electronic – prefer Excel)
• Outpatient Hospital claims Logs (electronic – prefer Excel)
• Mapping of Hospital Claims Charges from the Hospital Logs to the Cost Report Cost Centers  (electronic – prefer Excel)
•  Medicare cost report (MCR) electronic file

• Final CAH Cost Settlements
  • Inpatient Hospital Claims Log (electronic – prefer Excel)
  • Outpatient Hospital claims Logs (electronic – prefer Excel)
  • Mapping of Hospital Claims Charges from the Hospital Logs to the Cost Report Cost Centers  (electronic – prefer Excel)
  • MCR Cost Report file with the adjusted changes applied to the report (electronic)
  • Copy of CMS Notice of Program Reimbursement (NPR) letter
