Plan Year 2008 Information for
Retirees/Direct Bill Members
Here's an overview of some of the most significant changes for 2008:
Current Medicare Plan Options
We're still offering Kansas Senior Plan C (with or without prescription drug coverage), the Coventry Advantra Freedom PPO and the Coventry Advantra Freedom PFFS but now you can choose whether you want to enroll in the PFFS with or without prescription drug coverage.
New Split Coverage Option for Medicare Eligible Members
In 2008, if you and your covered dependent(s) are all eligible for Medicare, each family member may enroll in a different Medicare plan option. For example, if you and your spouse/other covered dependent are both eligible for Medicare, you may enroll in the Kansas Senior Plan C with drugs and your spouse/dependent may enroll in the Coventry Advantra PPO.
New Non-Medicare Health Plan Options
We have two new plan designs (Plan A and Plan B).
Plan A combines the features of the Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) with a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO).
Plan B replaces many of our former PPO options.
Also available with these non-Medicare plans:
Improved prescription drug coverage The co-insurance you pay for diabetic and asthma medications will be less. We've added coverage for prescription smoking control products and weight-loss medications as part of the new Tobacco Control and Weight Loss programs offered by .
Increased preventive care benefits
Enhancements include coverage for colonoscopies and mammograms from a network provider whether they are routine preventive screens or medically necessary in connection with a diagnosis.
